What is a “Lot Cop”

A “Lot Cop” or “Cop Robot” are terms sometimes used for a Mobile Surveillance Unit (aka MSU). A Mobile Surveillance Unit is a trailer mounted camera system that normally comes with 1 or 3 cameras, red, white, and blue strobe lights, a flood light, and a talk down speaker that you can address an individual, or a group of individuals specifically to let them know they are being watched and recorded.

“Lot Cops” and “Cop Robots” are great for parking lots to protect your customers and employees, loss prevention, slip and falls, and other incidents that can happen away from the building and out of range of building mounted cameras. They also solve the issue of having hard-wired cameras installed and expensive electrical conduits, wiring, etc. installed. Additionally, hard-wired cameras are limited to how far they can be mounted from their power source.
